Rainbows
A brilliant rainbow arches over Duluth Harbor after a passing summer storm, stretching from hillside to shoreline above Lake Superior. Moments like this are brief, yet they fill us with awe.
Rainbows form when sunlight passes through raindrops, bending and separating into the colors of the spectrum. During the warm, moisture-filled days of early August, thunderstorms often create the perfect conditions for these brilliant displays. Occasionally, a faint second rainbow appears above the first, its colors reversed.
“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” — Genesis 9:13
Whenever I witness a rainbow, I’m reminded that God’s promises are as enduring as His creation. Even after life’s darkest storms, He faithfully fills the sky with hope.
